This private experience will take you deep into the mountains, offering a unique connection with elephants and their care-takers. You’ll travel about one hour south of Chiang Mai to a remote elephant camp, run by a local Karen community. As you immerse yourself in the serene surroundings, you’ll have the opportunity to observe and feed the elephants, while hearing the story of their lives. Later, you’ll engage in a hands-on experience, helping prepare a traditional Karen meal. It's not just a visit—it's a sanuk-filled journey that connects you with the elephants and the local community in a meaningful way.
Just a short drive from the elephant camp, we will finish the day with a peaceful cruise down the Mae Wang River on a bamboo raft. Your local guide will safely navigate the river while you take in the beautiful scenery, often spotting buffalo, elephants and plenty of birds. We will return to Chiang Mai following the bamboo rafting.
This experience is suitable for all ages; however, a general level of fitness is required.
