Experience day to day life in a local Karen hill tribe village, learning about their history and cultural traditions. This all inclusive private tour includes transportation to/from Chiang Mai to mountainous area of Mae Win. The drive will take around two hours from the city with stops at two local markets. The tour includes: private sleeping arrangements in a family home, insurance, food and drink, and local activities such as farming, sauna, cooking, and weaving.
Bamboo rafting , elephant experiences and/or a trip to Doi Inthanon are available at an additional cost.

This unique experience will have you staying with a local Karen family. Meals will be prepared and eaten together. You will have a private sleeping area in a local family's home.
Farming is the main source of income for this Karen community. While visiting, you will have a chance to learn about their farming practices as well as the ingredients used in their cooking.
Karen food is different from typical Thai food. While rice is a staple, dishes often reflect what is available in the surrounding fields. You can expect hand roasted coffee, fragrant rice, flavorful soups, hearty stir fries and curries.
The Karen people are known for their incredible hand woven textiles, often adorned with embroidered beadwork. When walking around the village, you will often see women weaving in their homes.
This particular village is unique in the way that they have held on to traditional health practices using locally grown herbs. During your stay, you will have a chance to use the herbal sauna and relax with an herbal foot soak.
